Creative Custom Finishes officially opened in the fall of 2005 and is owned
and operated by Rebecca Showinsky.
Rebecca Showinsky grew up in a small town on the Upper Michigan-Wisconsin
border. Growing up she was always encouraged to express herself through art
and painting. With a family of self taught artists she was encouraged to try new things.
During her high school years Rebecca moved several times throughout the
United States, eventually settling down in Columbia Missouri after
graduation.
Rebecca earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from
Columbia College, Columbia Missouri, in 1997 and worked as a Law Enforcement Officer for the next 5 years. After deciding to continue her education,Rebecca started employment with the University of Missouri doing
Administrative and Human Resources work. During this time Rebecca reached
out to her artistic roots and began painting again.
With the help and encouragement of friends and family Rebecca practiced her
new trade on her own home and the homes of friends. During this time Rebecca decided it would be a great opportunity to bring beautiful faux finishes and custom painting to Mid-Missouri and opened Creative Custom Finishes.
Rebecca is always learning and experimenting with color and texture. She has attended numerous educational classes and seminars including an
internationally renowned Faux Finishing School in Louisville Kentucky. Her
continuing education is invaluable to her and to her clients. This education and training enables her to offer some of the finest and most durable faux finishes through the use of professional products.
Rebecca also travels annually to different areas of the United States to work on and observe new and interesting techniques. She is planning to travel abroad to Ireland and Italy and eventually to Australia and Japan.
Rebecca is fully insured and delighted to share her portfolio with potential clients.
